Qinming Feng is an interdisciplinary research-based artist and designer whose graduated from MA Art and Science (Distinction Grade) at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, also holds a bachelor degree from Beijing Institute of Technology. He specialises in diverse media including interactive installations; visual communication design, and working with transformation of bio-materials (urine) to rethink the production process, He trying to challenge the approach of how we observed and understood, to communicate through implementing new thinking.
The themes of his works focused on individual sense perception, social reflection, biomaterials, which seems to involve a variety of content, but in essence, it is all related to the communication, including human sensibility, the connection between people, bodies and environment, social and machine, and even human and materials. He trusts that contemporary art will offer more possibilities to fulfil his research on “communication”, for the most prominent feature of contemporary art is that it enhances the participation of the audience, and it stresses on exchanging artist and audience’s awareness with devices through sounds, lights and machines, instead of encountering them with still images and traditional artworks, which means it provides more expression modes.
